High Prairie Traditional Pow Wow Handgames Tournament
École Springfield School and
T.A. Norris Middle School sent a mixed team to the High Prairie Traditional Pow Wow Handgames Tournament at the Gordon Buchanan Centre.
Dene Handgames have been around for many generations and have been becoming a very competitive Indigenous sport.
TA grade 5/6 team won first place at the Peace River Pakisiwin tournament in Grimshaw, so the team was qualified to go to the High Prairie tournament.
Our team placed 3rd place and we are so very proud of our team!

Swim Abilities - Nov 2024
This year the Peace Regional Pool is very excited to offer our school Red Cross adapted swimming lessons to students who would benefit from smaller group instruction and programming more suited to their individual needs. This program is called Swim Abilities.
First Day of AMA! Oct 2024
A few of our School Safety Patrollers start this week. AMA likes to refer to them as "the superheroes of the crosswalk, donning their fluorescent vests every day to keep their classmates safe- rain, shine, sleet or snow."
They provide a visual reminder to motorists about the importance of school zone safety.
